The physical Manuplication of soil for better development of crop is called tillage.
Importance of tillage
1) to get good soil tilth
2) to prepare soil for sowing of crops.
3) to reduce weed infection in crop field
4) to get higher yield crop.
5) to improve the growth of beneficial in crop field.
6) to improve physical, chemical, and biological properties of the soil.

A] on-season TillageTillage
On season tillage refers to the tillage operation that are done for raising crop in the same season.
On season tillage have two types

a) Primary Tillage
The tillage operation which are carried out for sowing of crop.

Minimum Tillage reduce tillage operation at minimum level for better seed germination growth and development of plant
This tillage can be follow in two conditions.
* to submit the heavy culture operation.
* to combine the seeds and fertilizer application method.
-Advantages of minimum tillage
1) reduction in cost of cultivator
2) less time log between harvesting to sowing
3) less expense on heavy implement
-Disadvantage of minimum tillage
* about 10% less germination of crop from minimum tillage
2) Zero tillage
It is simply defined as no till or complete avoidance of tillage operation before sowing of crop.
