Lac is produced by an insect Tacchardia lagta, it is resin like substances produced by dermal gland of female insect
These insect feed on plant like ber, palas, kusum, babool
When the insect secret pink coloured resin like substances and coming in contact with air lac is formed
PURIFICATION
Natural lac is always is always contaminated, it is purified by washing and filtering obtain shellac in pure form
Uses
Lac is used to making bangels, toys, woodwork, polish, ink and silvering of mirror
